The Details 12 Sunday, March 12, 2-6 p.m.: A Visit to Xia Sha Hello, Friends! Well, we are still not ready to start the weeknight activities again; my schedule is still uncertain. But I am happy to announce that we ARE ready to do something on weekends. We will not be meeting every weekend, but probably every other weekend.
We will meet at Che Gong Miao Metro Station, at the top of Exit D. (Note: There are two sets of stairs at Exit D; this will be the one straight ahead, not the one to the left) at 2 p.m. on Sunday. We will walk from there to Xia Sha Village, where we will visit the village square. There is a temple, an ancestral hall, many unusual statues, an old tree, and a statue dedicated to some of Shenzhen's pioneers. From there we will walk to Shang Sha Village, where there is another small temple dedicated to Tian Hou, and another ancestral hall. Finally, we will walk to Papa John's Pizza in Tian An Cyber Park for dinner. We will finish between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Dinner at Papa John's will be a shared expense; one very large pizza is around 100 RMB. It's the best pizza in Shenzhen! After dinner we will walk back to Che Gong Miao Station. There will be NO LAUGHING BUDDHA FEE for this event. We hope you can all make it! We look forward to seeing all our old friends. First, on Friday night, March 24, we will have a party at Old Jazz Bar at 8 p.m. Old Jazz Bar is next to Gang Xia Metro Station, Exit A. It is on the 24th floor of the Hai Ying Building. The bar phone (for directions) is (0755) 8291-3079. There is a map here. Part of the reason for this party is just to get together and have FUN. Also, our good friend Jon Mayfield is leaving us to take a new job in Beijing, and we will say goodbye to him that night. Come speak Chinese with Jon--he's amazing! We will miss him. There will be no Laughing Buddha fee for this event; just buy your own drinks and snacks from the bar's menu. 3月24号，本周五晚上晚八点，我们将在老爵士酒吧聚会。 老爵士酒吧靠近岗厦地铁站，A出口。在海鹰大厦的24层。可以打酒吧电话（0755）8291-3079询问地址。或点击下面的地址，查看地图. 此次聚会的部分原因是让大家聚在一块，开心地玩。另一部分原因是给我们的好朋友Jon Mayfield饯行。他将去北京开始一份新的工作。来跟Jon说中文吧，他很厉害的。我们会想念他的。 此次活动不需要交任何费用，但得自己负责在酒吧里购买的酒水和零食。 25 Saturday, March 25, 4-5:30 p.m.: English Corner in O.C.T.; FREE! We are not planning any Laughing Buddha salons in the near future. But I have agreed to help my friends Wang Li Min and Kiki Yang with their English corner in Overseas Chinese Town. So come this Saturday, March 25th, at 4 p.m., and join us for conversation. I will lead a small discussion about Spring time and the Spring Equinox. There is NO CHARGE for this English corner! We will meet outdoors in OCT's Ecology Square.
