(Sort Of) Birthday Party for James
Old
Jazz Bar: August 14, 2005
Because I
was in Los Angeles for my 50th birthday (July 17--don't forget next
year!), we held my Shenzhen party a couple of days before Lila and I
left for the Philippines. It was a blast!

Lots
of pretty girls! I met Becky (left) at the local KFC, and
at this party discovered that she is my friend Isaac's
girlfriend! The same thing happened with Jen (in red),
whom I met before I met her beau Jon, and later discovered that
they were together. |

temple in Dongmen; he brought a group of his students. |
| "Old"
friends: Rami, Zed, Vida, and Lila are faithful friends (well,
Lila is more than a friend, but still faithful). |

Roliet
(to Jon's left), my assistant, has translated all of the Chinese
you find on these pages. She's a real treasure! |
| I
was so pleased that the Skeltons came; Lila and I attended their
wedding party before we were a couple. You can also
see them before their marriage on the "A
Day in Chiwan" page, a record of one of the outings I
organized for teachers last year. |

And,
of course, I sang with Daniel, our host at the Old Jazz Bar. |
